Meet Our Founder

Building a team dedicated to supporting seniors.

Leanne Masellis

Hi, I’m Leanne, founder of Dynamic Downsizers. Born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan—“Go Riders!”—I’ve always felt deeply connected to the land and the values that come with growing up on the Prairies. Summers spent in rural southern Saskatchewan with my grandparents are some of my fondest memories. I have my own parents to thank for my strong work ethic, early mornings, and the importance of community.

At 18, a scholarship from my competitive dance career brought me to Toronto, where I met my entrepreneurial husband and eventually became a proud mom of three. As our family grew, so did my commitment to building a life that balanced professional fulfillment with time for school activities, taekwondo, dance lessons, hockey practices, and supporting our aging parents.

With over 25 years of experience in purchasing, receiving, and full-cycle accounting—including accounts payable and receivable—I’ve developed a solid foundation in business operations. I also spent several years at News Corp Canada, managing in-store marketing for national accounts such as Loblaws, Zehrs, Fortinos, and Zellers. During a chapter spent raising my kids, I took on commercial acting roles for Canadian, American, and Australian brands, which added a whole new dimension to my creativity and adaptability.

Later in life, I returned to school as a mature student to study interior design—an area I’d always been passionate about. Upon graduating, I launched Masellis Designs, combining project management with aesthetic vision to help people create spaces they love.

In 2018, I brought it all together—my business experience, project management skills, design expertise, and passion for helping others—and founded Dynamic Downsizers. Our mission is to support seniors and their families through the often overwhelming process of downsizing, estate clearing, and transition planning.

In 2025, I fulfilled a long-time vision for the business by pitching Dynamic Downsizers on Dragon’s Den—an outstanding and unforgettable experience. Stay tuned for Season 20!

Throughout the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of clients start fresh in new spaces, with our work featured on Breakfast Television, Our Homes Magazine, and the Global New Set. I’ve also had the honour of sharing our mission on Zoomer Radio and speaking at numerous senior-focused events throughout the GTA, connecting with families and professionals who share our passion for compassionate transitions

At Dynamic Downsizers, we believe that supporting our aging population takes a village. I continue to learn every day from our clients and our incredible team, and I’m deeply committed to growing our collective knowledge and compassion.

Dementia care is especially close to my heart, having lost my father to vascular dementia in the fall of 2024. This deeply personal experience has strengthened my commitment to supporting families navigating similar journeys. At Dynamic Downsizers, we’re proud to work closely with the Alzheimer Society and are continually expanding our knowledge to better serve those living with dementia. Our entire team participates in ongoing training and education to stay informed and compassionate in our approach. One of our most meaningful initiatives is our “Heart to Home” package—designed to help seniors feel safe, grounded, and emotionally connected to their new space, especially during times of change and memory loss.

I look forward to meeting you soon!

Leanne
